Sustainability starts with people, and the core of all contemporary organizations are teams. If firm encourage and “produce” sustainable units, this will improve teams’ short- and long-term performance and leave its mark on firm strategy and activities.
Developing and nurturing sustainable teams consists of four interrelated elements, which will guide the discussion and activity in this workshop:
1) Trust and co-creation. Providing frequent and constructive feedback, establishing solid and open communication, sharing results and accomplishments. Developing unique bonds that tie team members together.
2) Psychological safety and resilience. Not being afraid to take risks, fostering the motivation and passion, as well as the tools needed to create, innovate and sustain performance. At the same time fostering capabilities of ‘bouncing back’ and adaptability to change.
3) Shared purpose and mutual learning. Aligning team members on sharing common elements such as mission, vision, purpose, goal, way of working, and communicating, keeping them focused and goal-oriented. Rewarding and acknowledging the team as a whole and individuals, fostering principles of mastery, not performance climate, making team members more eager to learn continuously.
4) Culture of transparency and equity. Fostering diversity and inclusion; building a more positive, healthy and sustainable work culture means opening and creating opportunities for professionals to know each other, be vulnerable, and excepting at the same time.

Ekonomska fakulteta v Ljubljani
Matej Černe je izredni profesor za področje managementa in organizacije na Ekonomski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani. V raziskovalnem in pedagoškem delu se osredotoča na inovativnost, ustvarjalnost, organizacijsko vedenje ter vodenje v digitalni dobi. V preteklosti je deloval kot vodja Laboratorija za odprte inovacijske sisteme na Centru odličnosti COBIK, kjer je soustvarjal prebojne rešitve za visokotehnološko podjetništvo v Sloveniji in Jadranski regiji. Za svoje delo je prejel številne nagrade, deluje pa tudi kot član uredniških odborov v revijah Leadership Quarterly, Human Resource Management Journal in Human Resource Management Review.
